Programs

Temporary facilities and programming for BATWorks are launching in 2025. The permanent facility and additional programming focused on workforce development and incubation will launch in 2028. BATWorks programs will leverage LACI’s 10+ years of experience in building an inclusive green economy, including linkages to three national programs:

LACI Cleantech Debt Fund

City Climate Innovation Challenge

A landmark program to help cities across the country incorporate and scale innovation to achieve climate goals related to specific priority topics.

NCCEI

NCCEI led by LACI, advocates for increased federal funding for advanced energy incubators.

Emerging climate tech companies, especially in sectors like energy, mobility, and buildings, need live, built environments like roofs, streets, and HVAC systems to test, refine, de-risk, and demonstrate their products for New York City’s complex urban environment.

Through the Pilots at BAT program, NYCEDC is excited to work with LACI to activate the BAT campus to pilot new and emerging technologies for climate innovation. This will play a key role in advancing public sector partnerships that support and grow promising new technologies for communities and for the city's future economy.
